ABOUT
CONNECT HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE
Train. Learn. Connect. The Connect Health and Performance philosophy. Here's what it means.
Train.
Train to improve movement quality, strength, and endurance while learning new skills.
Train with focused effort, patience, and determination.
Train with purpose. Be specific.
The precise blend of movement quality, strength, and endurance depends on your goals, objectives, and needs. At a high level, your own personal training plan is a 4-step process:
-
Establish where you are now
-
Determine where you would like to go
-
Develop a strategy to get there
-
Evaluate and refine
This is a cyclical process that continues as long as you continue to train.
Learn.
The training process is a learning process. Otherwise, it’s just another random workout.

- Learn how to unlock movement
- Learn new exercise strategies
- Learn a different approach to fitness
- Learn your true capabilities
Connect.
Ultimately, everything is connected. This is one of the core tenets. Effective training seeks to enhance these connections, whether they be internal (mind-body) or external (environment and community).
- Connect with your coach
- Connect with other participants
- Understand the connection between your workouts and your life outside the gym
- Understand the impact your lifestyle has on the quality of your workouts

ABOUT COACH CHRIS
Coach Chris started in the fitness industry in 2009 as a run coach for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's Team Challenge half-marathon training program.

In 2012, he obtained a personal trainer certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and began his journey as a personal trainer at a small semi-private fitness studio in Somerville, MA. He is currently a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.

Chris strongly values continuing education. In an ever-evolving industry, he is constantly pushing himself to challenge his current body of knowledge of the complex human system, as well as challenging the status quo in the field of health and fitness.
He has amassed many thousands of hours of continuing education via seminars, symposiums, research articles, and numerous books covering a wide range of health and performance topics. He has compounded this education with over 13,000 hours of practical, hands-on training experience in the 1-on-1, small group, and larger group exercise settings.
Chris has worked with clients of all ages, from teenagers to 80+ year olds; clients with various athletic backgrounds, from former high-level athletes to those who have never before played a sport or set foot in a gym; and those rehabbing from surgeries, injuries, and nagging aches and pains. Beyond specific exercises, sets and reps, his goal with all of his clients is simple: to build a foundation of confidence and competence upon which to maximize health and performance.
Chris has helped many people accomplish things they never thought possible--from things as seemingly simple as touching their toes for the first time in decades, to completing marathons and triathlons, to climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. He has extensive experience in many modalities, including bodyweight and mobility training, kettlebells, barbells, sport performance and athletic development.
He has an endless fascination with the human mind and body, and will continue to push himself to be a better coach and human in order to offer his best to his clients.
Forever a student, Chris practices what he preaches by pushing himself to become a better athlete through continuing to play and practice sports such as basketball, soccer, golf, and alpine skiing. You can also find him with his pup Dexter learning to run agility courses or jogging through the wooded trails of eastern MA.
